Literature That Breathes Sea Air. Ian Ross Singleton. Ariel Rosé. Maja Lukic. Evening of Readings and Conversation

May 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free

On May 7 at 7:00 PM, we are delighted to welcome three remarkable authors for an evening of readings and conversation dedicated to literature infused with the sea air.

ariel rosé has long written about the sea, including in their collection the sea at night is a muscle of the heart (PIW, 2022), translated by Frank Vigoda.
Ian Ross Singleton is the author of the novel Two Big Differences (MGraphics, 2021), set in Odesa—often called the pearl by the sea—during the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity. He is also the translator of The Shipwright by Yuri Yanovsky (Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, 2027), which takes place in 1920s Odesa.
Maja Lukic is a poet whose work, published in journals such as New England Review, explores seas and rivers as spaces of grief, bodily vulnerability, and elegy.

At this event, Rosé, Singleton, and Lukic will read from both original works and translations, inviting us into texts shaped by tides, memory, and the presence of water.

Admission is free with registration.
Please make sure to register in advance, as seating is limited by the size of our cozy venue.
