Алексей Будовский родился в Ленинграде в 1975 году. В 19 лет он переехал в Нью-Йорк, где окончил Бруклинский колледж. В 2002 году начал карьеру режиссёра-мультипликатора. С 2010 года живёт в Боготе, столице Колумбии. В 2025 году был принят в Американскую академию кинематографических искусств и наук.

Во время лекции Алексей расскажет о том, как анимация использовалась как инструмент пропаганды в СССР и США. Гости увидят самые ранние советские пропагандистские мультфильмы, а также материалы о том, как создавалась анимация в Америке 1930-х годов.

Язык лекции будет зависеть от аудитории — русский или английский.

On March 17 at 7:00 PM we will host animator and director Alexey Budovsky, who will give a lecture on propaganda in Soviet and American animation from 1925 to 1985.

Alexey Budovsky was born in Leningrad in 1975. At the age of 19 he moved to New York, where he graduated from Brooklyn College. In 2002 he began his career as an animation director. Since 2010 he has been living in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. In 2025 he was accepted as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

During this lecture, Alexey will talk about how animation was used as a tool of propaganda in both the Soviet Union and the United States. The audience will see some of the earliest Soviet propaganda cartoons, as well as materials about how animation was produced in America in the 1930s.

The language of the lecture will depend on the audience (Russian or English).
