Join the creative drawing workshop with Victoria Lomasko, political artist, critical journalist, and graphic novelist!

The skill of decoding social signs of reality is essential in genres such as: “documentary comics”, “graphic reportage”, “social posters” and “social illustration”. International artist Victoria Lomasko, author of graphic books Forbidden Art, Other Russias and The Last Soviet Artist, will share her methods with you.

In art on social themes, all details of the image should be “talking”, meaning they must reveal the social context. Participants of this workshop will analyse and draw “talking portrait”, “talking landscape” and “talking still life”, working at the intersection of art, journalism and sociology. Attention will also be given to the synthesis of text and image.

Drawing skills are welcome but not required.

The participation fee is $30. The number of spots in the group is limited, so please purchase your tickets in advance to make sure you can attend.
